"Put aside nine months to view all of this Egyptian museum..."
So we were off to the Egyptian museum... It was hot outside
the streets were crazy with those maniac Egyptian taxis!!! I was even scared to cross the road, but Vintz took my hand
.. and as if a miracle , the cars stopped, and we walked safely to the other side! There was no need to be scared of crossing any road in Cairo
these people were the best drivers I have seen in my life!! We entered this sacred space of old, ancient Egypt and was lost in history. We spent most part of that day in this storehouse of a Great Civilization.
This museum has an unparalleled collection of treasures (arranged from Old (2700 2200BC) to Middle (2100 1800 BC) and New (1600 1200 BC) Kingdoms, that if you allowed just one minute to examine each of its 136,000 artifacts, it would take you 9 months to see it all. Another astounding 40 000 items remain crated in the basement, evidence of the chronic space shortage. The visit here was overwhelming and luckily, because we visited in March, there were very little crowds. The mummy room was fascinating, especially the last mummy that was found a few years ago. Upstairs, in the gallery, we found the mind-boggling treasures of boy-king Tutankhamen, one of the last great kings of ancient Egypt. The size of these antique jewels and the beautiful blue colour of the Lapis lazuli, was unbelievable. There , in that cool museum, amongst all those religious treasures of Egypt, I was reliving the life of ancient Egypt in my own time - walking from cubicle to glass cubicle, reading all the descriptions and inscriptions of these treasures, and feeling inspired by the magnitude of the wonder of life in Ancient Egypt - and the lives that came before us
.. I met with some
ancient Egyptian Gods
face to face.
